A Victorian Semi Reimagined
Ronnie wanted to transform a recently purchased three bed Victorian semi into a characterful family home for herself and young daughter. Retaining period features while introducing a contemporary and personalised style was key. Together, we reimagined key spaces, blending heritage charm with bold, modern touches.

Our journey began when my family and I purchased a three-bed house through probate, untouched for decades. We moved in just before our second child was born, mere months before COVID hit—teaching us invaluable lessons in project management as supply chains were thrown into chaos.
The house was small, dark, and outdated, but we had a vision: to create a bright, functional, and stylish four-bedroom family home that truly worked for us.
The project required extensive architectural and building work to reimagine the space. Below are just a few of the challenges we tackled. There was so much more involved in the project (including full electrical rewire, modernised plumbing, insulation to name a few!).

In the snug, we introduced subtle yet impactful touches to create a warm and inviting space with a hint of personality.

A Transformative Design Journey
Sarbani had a clear vision for her family home—a space that would reflect both elegance and functionality. As a newcomer to the country, she felt uncertain about sourcing contractors and overseeing the execution of her design. Her primary desires were a neutral colour palette and the addition of architectural wood panelling to elevate the space.
What was once an uninspiring blank canvas was transformed into a serene, character-filled apartment with a calming Scandi-inspired feel. Golden Peacock Design took on this turnkey project, overseeing everything from design and decorating to sourcing contractors, ensuring a seamless execution before her move-in date.
The key challenge in this project was the tight six-week timeline, from initial brief to final completion.
