Helping a family settle into life in a new country by transforming a blank apartment into a calm, welcoming home that was ready from the moment they moved in. Through a fully managed turnkey service, every detail was carefully coordinated to create a home that felt personal, practical and effortlessly complete.

Transform a blank, characterless apartment into a warm and welcoming family home within an ambitious six-week timeframe. Alongside the design itself, the project required complete coordination of contractors and suppliers, giving a client who was new to the UK confidence and peace of mind throughout the process.

Project
Moving home is always a significant milestone, but relocating to a new country brings a unique set of challenges. Alongside creating a beautiful home, Sarbani needed someone she could trust to navigate unfamiliar suppliers, coordinate trades and manage every detail on her behalf.
As with every Golden Peacock Design project, the starting point wasn't the furniture or finishes - it was understanding how the family wanted to live. Together, we explored the feeling they wanted to create, the spaces they needed most and the practical considerations that would help them settle into everyday life as quickly as possible.
A calm, Scandinavian-inspired palette became the foundation for the design, introducing warmth and understated elegance whilst allowing architectural details, natural materials and thoughtful layering to bring personality to the apartment. Every decision was carefully considered to create a home that felt timeless rather than trend-led.
Working to an ambitious six-week programme, Golden Peacock Design managed every stage of the project - from design and decorating through to sourcing and coordinating trusted contractors - ensuring everything was completed before move-in day. The result was far more than a beautifully designed apartment; it gave the family the confidence to start their new life in the UK in a home that already felt unmistakably theirs.

Sarbani had a clear vision for her family home - a space that would reflect both elegance and functionality. As a newcomer to the country, she felt uncertain about sourcing contractors and overseeing the execution of her design. Her primary desires were a neutral colour palette and the addition of architectural wood panelling to elevate the space.
What was once an uninspiring blank canvas was transformed into a serene, character-filled apartment with a calming Scandi-inspired feel.
